Chemistry Honors Banquet Recognitions

Two of our senior students, John Rose and Tyler Barnes, presented their G410 Senior Thesis research at the honors banquet poster presentation. Additionally, Brett Walker, Andrew Rejer, and John Rose were recognized on the honor roll; John Rose was also recognized as one of the Class of 2016 Honors Program Students and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. These students also accepted a number of additional awards: Andrew, a Hutton Honors College Award, the Robert&Marjorie Mann Scholarship, and the William G. Roessler Scholarship; Brett, a Hutton Honors College Award, the Votaw Undergraduate Summer Research Scholarship, and the Francis&Mildred (Eckerty) Whitacre Scholarship; and John the James C. White Memorial Chemistry Scholarship. Congrats all!



Congratulations Dr. Caitlyn McGuire

Caitlyn defended her dissertation "Pollution Electrocution" on April 19. She will be moving to D.C. this summer as an ACS Congressional Fellow.



Congratulations Dr. Sean Bird

Sean successfully defended his dissertation "Catalytic Reduction of Secondary Alkyl Monohalides by Electrogenerated Ni(I)and Co(I) Salen at Carbon" on Tuesday, April 12.



Travel Awards

Congratulations to Caitlyn McGuire and John Rose for receiving ECS Student Travel Grants. They will both be presenting at 229th ECS Meeting in San Diego, CA.
